We’re starting a new series this weekend at Faith Promise based on Colossians 3:12-14. It should be an awesome opportunity for you to discover what you should be “wearing” as a part of your life and what you need to get rid of.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:12-14

We’ll be back on the normal schedule: Saturday at 5:30 & 7pm and Sunday at 8:30, 10 & 11:45am or you can catch the iCampus: Sunday at 10, 11:45am & 9pm.

Can’t wait to start the New Year with this series!

It’s a small(er) world

Today, my friend Kyle shared and article with me about instant voice translation software for cell phones (you can read the article here). Recently, other technology like Life Church‘s BabelWith.Me translation tool allows online interaction with people in other countries. Amazing stuff!

It’s a small(er) world than ever before, and God is desiring for HIS CHURCH to get involved in it. The amazing part: you can go or you can engage it without going. But, no matter what you do, get involved.

At Faith Promise, you will have 12 opportunities to go this year if you desire. Or, you can promote the internet campus to get others connected with Christ.

(I hope you are singing “It’s a smaller world after all” now!)

iCampus, iPhone, iHave no clue

This past weekend Kyle Gilbert, Pastor of Communications at Faith Promise launched the iCampus on the iPhone. It was amazing and I wanted to take a minute to brag on Kyle a little. We’ve been friends for almost 10 years and last year we realized that as a ministry we needed to take a leap in our web presence in multiple areas. I called and asked him if he would pray about the position. He and Keri came out to visit and loved the church, the area, and made the move to serve with us in October.

Since that time, Kyle, Heather, and a team of volunteers have:

Re-launched the Faith Promise Website
Improved our branding, social networking and visual presence
Created an FPC leaders website to improve ministry communication
Launched the iCampus (internet campus)
Launched the ASL iCampus
Launched the iCampus for the iPhone

These are major ministry things and do not include his day-to-day responsibilities and leadership. Honestly, iHave no clue about how any of these things work, but they have helped our ministry connect more people to Christ. Each week more and more people are coming to know Christ online! Kyle has done a great job. We have an amazing staff team!

Today we finished the “You Asked for It” series at Faith Promise, and I had the chance to be on stage and catch this short clip of worship during the 11:45am worship service. It’s from a great perspective! You can go and watch the messages here. We also launched the ASL iCampus – what an awesome day!

Reaching unreached people…online?

This weekend at Faith Promise we launch our ASL iCampus. Kyle Gilbert, Pastor of Communications at FPC, had a vision to reach the deaf community. With over 2-million deaf people in the US and only 7% attending church, he felt that we had to do something. Since we already provided sign-language interpretation at one of our services, Kyle began working to provide that as a new service on our internet campus. He and Matt James, Video Director at FPC have worked tirelessly over the past month to finalize the project to launch this weekend on Sunday, August 9.

If you want to help us get the word out, you can blog or introduce into your social networks to the site, http://deafworship.org. We are already using Facebook, Twitter, and Google Adwords to get the word out as well.

I believe that the key to impacting the world for Christ today is reaching unreached people groups. We often want to focus on Africa, India or Asia (and I am committed to those countries personally), but the deaf community in our country is totally unreached.
