We went back out this afternoon for more fun. After playing in the backyard, we went over to the drainage area in the neighborhood. That’s real sledding. Enjoy!

Honestly, I had the most fun playing in the snow today than ever in my life. As the kids have gotten older, things have gotten more and more fun. Enjoy these pics – we received about 3-4 inches at our house. It canceled church all weekend!

Tiger family goes Orange

I hate to even write this post, but it had to be done! Even though our No. 1 team is LSU, we went out as a family today to support our No. 2 team, the UT Vols. Let’s take the photo and video journey.

The whole family had to wear the orange and white.

We made it inside for the pregame excitement and the “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band. That ended with the team storming out for Lane Kiffin’s first time.

Kim and Hayden had a great time and Madison played with her Disney Princesses when she wasn’t saying, “Dat guy fell with the football.”

We made it until a little before Halftime and on the ride home, Hayden fell asleep.

College Football really is the best (even if it isn’t LSU)!

Canopy tour

We had some fun while in Costa Rica as well. On Thursday, we were free for the entire day until about 4pm. So, we decided to go on a canopy tour (something like this) and it was a blast!

Micah told Kacie and me that the platforms were only 20 feet off of the ground. Let’s say that Micah is not good at judging heights because the lowest one was 50 feet! Kacie was excited but apprehensive and she continually used the phrase “safety first.” In the video of her, the guy lets her go and acts like the didn’t clip the pulley. It was hilarious!

Then, Micah was asked if he wanted to travel upside down. Of course he did, and I caught some good footage of it.

Thursday was also the day that we traveled to Canas, Costa Rica. If you missed the post about the band there earlier this week, you can see it here.

God is doing amazing things in Costa Rica. Today I received word that we may be supporting a new initiative there through Open Eyes to reach students and young adults.

Pray about that opportunity with me! We want God’s will!

Something you don’t know about me

Okay, so I got some funny comments when I twittered last Thursday about my corn getting blown over by the wind. We do have corn. However, it’s just a small garden we planted at Hayden’s request including: corn, cucumbers, squash, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, okra, strawberries and carrots.

On to what you didn’t know about me: I grew up working weekends on a small family farm. It varied in size, but one thing never changed: our family grew Sugar Cane and made Cane Syrup every year for the past 100 years. It’s a pretty crazy tradition and it honestly built a ton of character in my life. Click here to see the pics of the Whitehead’s Syrup Making.
