Dr. Josh Whitehead is Executive Pastor at Faith Promise Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. Faith Promise is a church with an extraordinary vision – to impact 356,000 unchurched and dechurched people in the 7 surrounding counties. The church started in 1995 with 250 people, and has grown to over 3200 people worshipping each weekend in nine identical worship services, including four internet campus experiences. Two of Faith Promise’s internet campuses are focused on reaching the deaf community and include American Sign Language interpretation.
In 2005, Josh became Executive Pastor after the church had plateaued in attendance. During his four years leading, Faith Promise has doubled in weekly attendance and appeared on Outreach Magazine’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Churches list twice. Josh’s goal is to lead by implementing the vision and values of the church through the staff and ministries. He has doubled the staff and developed comprehensive hiring, coaching, development and evaluation plans. Most importantly, Josh loves the Church and desires to equip church leaders to effectively impact the world for Christ through their ministry.
Josh’s educational background includes a degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary and he recently received his Doctorate in leadership and administration. He has been married to his awesome wife Kim for 7 years and they have 2 children – Hayden Thomas (4) and Madison Kaye (2).
