The other afternoon I was mowing and that always leads to thinking. This thought hit me: What do I think about more? Leadership or Holiness.
Honestly, I think a lot about leadership a lot. It’s my life. It’s what I do. And today, leadership is really what people want to hear about. It has become the consuming thought of church leadership.
But I think we may be hitting the tipping point. We possibly need to think less about leadership and focus more on holiness. In heaven, I’m not sure that leadership will be tested. Yet, I am 100% sure that holiness will be tested.
So what about you? Do you focus more on your leadership than your holiness? What are you stressing for those around you?
You may need to find some balance.
Great blog! Along the same lines – I’m reading a book called “Spirit of Truth” by A. Katz – he has this statement in his book “we seek truths, God seeks to make us true” . I pray that God will make me true.
Dude, I think you’re totally right on this. I think there’s a big tendency to focus on leadership or being cool today rather than on holiness.
Even typing that, I feel prudish and silly, but God has called us to holiness.
