Where do you think the best? That’s right. If you need to make significant decisions, where do you go to think? Interestingly enough, I have realized that some of my best thinking happens doing things that I do not really enjoy. Here are my top 3 places to think:
- Driving – I schedule road trips just to have time to think.
- Resting – When I just get away from everything, it’s easier to think. It seems obvious, but I really like to be busy so this is a struggle.
- Mowing – Yep, when I am mowing the grass. If you need your grass mowed, let me know.
So, today I was mowing and realized how thankful I should be for what God is doing in my life and in the life of His Church. Each week God is moving in the lives of people who attend Faith Promise. They are connecting with Christ, following in baptism, committing to relationships, and plugging in to serve. But we are just a small picture of what God is doing in so many churches that are following after Him. Check it out:
- Grace Church – Derek Sanford is the Executive Pastor at Grace and today twittered that they are seeing record numbers of people come each weekend. Check out ServErie and you will know why.
- LifePoint Church – Jason Stewart is the Executive Director of Worship Programming and a self-professed binge blogger (we need an update). LifePoint will launch a new campus on September 13 as the church continues to grow and make a difference world-wide. Check out their global strategy here.
- Cross Point Church – Jenni Catron is the Executive Director and has led in the launch of two campuses and tons of growth. Today, Pete announced another campus coming in early 2010.
It’s amazing that God allows us to be a part of His work. If you are not a part of a church where people are thinking of new ways to impact the lives of those in your community and world, consider going somewhere that does. God is up to some amazing things and He wants you to be a part of it!
Question: Where do you think best and what were you last thinking about?
Hey Josh–I think a lot in the shower (many times until the hot water runs out) and like you, I have had some intense thinking and praying sessions on the mower. However, if you would like to mow my lawn, you are welcome to! : )
I’m like Jayson. My best thoughts always happen in the shower. There’s just something about warm water and no distractions.
I have really cool ideas that just pop into my head at any given time. I learned a long time ago to write them down, or now I will send myself a text message as a reminder. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with some really cool ideas. I grab my phone and send myself a text message. Sometimes Misty would wake up and say who are you texting this late, and I would be like… myself! haha
As you know, I tend to pass any of them related to the church on, but it has been a while since I came up with anything new.
My last simple idea that I thought of was creating a sitemap from the Knoxville MLS data we have access to, that basically creates about 20,000 pages for google to index. http://www.knoxvillerealty.com/sitemap.php
to my knowledge, no other Realtor’s have done this yet.
