@chris - great point - interesting how my lens often needs contacts to see like Him!

Well said Josh!! We are not all meant to be carbon copies! As Christians we must encourage and empower each other to pursue the purpose that God puts within us as individuals. We are all uniquely created for specific purposes. The Prayer Ministry at Faith Promise is currently focused on a related goal. We wish to provide an encouraging and supportive way for people to partner with other people who share their heart and create a communication network that will keep people informed of the current prayer needs of each of the different ministry areas.

Wow...Thanks so much for putting those thoughts into words. I've been thinking about this all day. It's kind of been a light bulb moment.

To go a little further with this. I think back at times where I've felt a tug at my heart to meet an obvious need. The need is so obvious to me, that I assume it's also obvious to everyone around me. When that happens, it's easy to shrug it off and assume someone else will meet it.

God has gifted us each in a unique way and given us different passions in order to meet different needs. We can't ignore compassion when it hits.

Compassion by definition is "a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering." Therefore, compassion to me, is seeing others through the lens of Jesus Christ.

I have found that this is very true about compassion. The more that I have surrounded myself with spiritual people the more I have found that I was truely hiding my compassion and interest in things that I really cared about. The more I partner with people like myself the better I have felt. In my bitterness I had ignored what God was asking of me. Now with letting btterness go I have opened myself and began sharing what God has done in my life and continues to do everyday with people I know but more so with people I don't know! Compassion is a word that most of the world I feel has forgotten about and what it means!
