There have only been a few times in ministry at FPC when my schedule has really changed, and I am in one of those transitions. On July 1st we hired Chuck Carringer as Pastor of Family Ministries. Chuck, who spent the last four years as a principal of a large high school, will also serve as a part of our Senior Leadership Team. He will directly oversee all staff that lead the birth through student ministries. During the search for Chuck, I was overseeing these ministries and my meeting plate was overflowing.

At the same time, we have moved our Membership Director, Caroline Ervin, to our Groups Ministry, aligning our process to connect people to FPC, groups and ministry. This was a tough decision but it really made the most sense.

So, over the past four weeks, I have cut 6-8 hours of meetings out of my schedule, regaining almost a full day to plan, strategize, and just think. Chuck is an amazing leader who will take our Family Ministries to new heights and Caroline will be even more strategic in her processes to connect people to FPC.

Now to you. Where do you need to change your structure to become more effective? Sometimes you have to wait to get the right people (we waited almost 24 months until God worked everything out and brought Chuck to us), but sometimes you know the changes that need to be made and you just need to pull the trigger. Where do you need to pull the trigger? I’ve included a copy of our Org Chart to help you think – I hope it helps! FPC Org Chart
