Sometimes I get caught up in always wanting more and not recognizing what God is doing right in front of me. This was one of those weekends at FPC. We started a new series for the family called The Unit and launched the internet campus. Here’s what God did this weekend & some notes from the sermon:

• 60 people from 6 states and 2 countries attended church via the web. What an amazing experience.
• Almost 3,000 people worshipped on campus this weekend (despite nasty weather) – God continues to move in peoples lives in an awesome way.

• Both the church and the family need a major move of God.
• The family is the diving board into life (Pastor preached standing on a diving board placed on stage).
• You started your family life from one of three places: 1) The high dive: you had an awesome family who loved and served God – you should call and thank them! The days of the Cleaver’s is over. 2) The low dive: nominally Christian or very moral. They loved and cared for you. 3) Bottom of the pool: your family put the “dys” in dysfunction.

• God does not hold me accountable for my parents sins, but they do follow me because my parents are my pattern for life.
• People do what people see – you probably act a lot like your parents.
• John 10:10
• You biological family impacts your DNA more than your spiritual family.
• Parents talk about their kids all the time – and sometimes it’s positive.
• Does your family shackle your kids or set them free to live and serve Him?
• When kids are little, you can help them – take the shackles off – but as they grow, you will secure them more and more in them if you are not serving Him.

It was an awesome weekend (and we have over 140 people signed up for the Discovery Class tonight). Can’t wait to see what God is going to continue to do. You really shouldn’t ever miss a weekend at FPC.
