Over the past two weekends at FPC, over 10,000 people have heard about and experienced the love of Christ. When I woke up this morning, I wanted to breathe a sigh of relief. My thought: “Easter is over.” All of the planning is done, all of the volunteers are home, and all of the attenders are back at work.
But, Easter really begins today. Today, thousands of people around the country are questioning what they experienced yesterday. They are thinking, “Can I really believe this? Can this Christ really change my life? Will the church really love me and help me grow?” Today they are deciding if they will come back to interact with this Christ once again.
So, for Believers, Easter really begins today. We have to decide if we are going to follow-up on those people we invited. We have to decide if we are going to care for them. Or, we can just breathe a sigh of relief and show up again next week – but I hope that we won’t!
Here’s what I am doing:
- Committing to pray everyday this week that those who attended will reconnect with Christ this weekend.
- Challenging others to love them when they return – they will have problems & we will have to walk through “stuff” with them.
- Changing the way I view Easter – it’s as much (or more) about the “post” than it is about the “pre.”
What about you? Have you breathed that sigh of relief? Suck that breath back in – there’s still a huge war taking place in people’s hearts today.
It‘s quiet in here! Why not leave a response?
