If I ever write a book, it will be about what I have learned about God the Father from being a father. Obviously I understand that this is not a perfect analogy, but having two kiddos has taught me so much about my relationship with God. Here are a few thoughts (both of my kids are under 4, so there is still a lot to learn):
- I want my kids to trust me like God wants me to trust Him.
- I want my kids to obey my words like God wants me to obey His.
- Sometimes, I want my kids to stop running in the house and just sit with me.
- Often I wish they would grow faster.
- I desire what is best for them, even when they do not understand or like it.
I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that I have learned a lot about THE Father from being a father. Here are my two kiddos – they are awesome (and are good looking like their mom)!

Madison being our sweetheart.
Great observations Josh! I’ve often caught myself thinking the same thing as #4, but feeling so guilty about it. Bad sadly enough, they are growing too fast.
This gave me a lot to think about today. Thanks for the encouragement.
Right on. I can also appreciate even more how important consistency is, and how hard it is to be consistent all the time.
