There were several questions about how volLink works – people want more of the nuts and bolts of the operation. Let me see if I can break it down clearly and simply.
- On our weekend communication card, we ask people to attend our Discovering Faith Promise class. From there, they can take two other steps: groupLink for relationships or volLink for serving.
- At each of the classes, we ask them to attend the others. Each of them are scheduled about every 6-8 weeks.
- Our Membership Department confirms reservations the week before the event.
- At volLink, the room is set-up to represent each major ministry area (along with some sub-areas within each of those). Those areas are: children, students, worship, small group & first touch. Each areas contains 15-20 chairs with some minor decorations representing the area.
- There is a light meal, 10 minutes of teaching on ministry and the “speed dating” begins. After 3 rounds, those attending sign up for a ministry to start serving in and receive the paperwork to complete as required for each area. Some groups even give a facilities tour for those interested – a nice touch as well.
It’s a pretty simple process, but it is really working. Hope that helps a little more and clarifies some things.
It‘s quiet in here! Why not leave a response?
