Today we finished one of the most challenging series on evangelism that I’ve ever been a part of in my short time in ministry. Take the Stand has been an awesome time to consider the fate of those around us who die without Christ. FPC has always been about connecting people with Christ, but this series has taken it to a fresh new level. Here are some thoughts from today.

  • Can you say that you have done everything you could to keep people in Knoxville from going to hell?
  • God is trying to wake us up.
  • Satan plays for keeps while believers say that he is real and do not live like it.
  • In the end, the devil is the prosecuting attorney (Rev. 12:10), but the defense attorney is Jesus, and He is related to the Judge – that’s a great set-up!
  • Everyone will be judged one day. Those that do not know Him will cry out that their judgment is not fair. But, God is the ultimate authority in the universe – that’s what the Bible teaches.
  • For those who do not know Him, they will be separated from Him. Remember the Ark – God closed the door. Once we get to heaven, the door is closed.
  • Remember in Acts 1:8 – the “you shall.” That’s why God left you on earth. You are responsible and WE as a CHURCH are responsible.
  • The only part of heaven that will matter to us is who you took there and who is not there.
  • Satan has sedated the church – we are asleep at the wheel in the world today while people die, separated from Him.
  • If we don’t get serious, we will be haunted for eternity. In heaven, we will not be worried about our 401k’s or our new cars – it will be about people!
  • We are going down swinging for the lost as a church.

To date, FPC attenders have taken 15,000 invites for Sacred Storm and Easter weekends. I can’t wait to see what God does!

I like that last bullet point. That is something to rally around.
