In the second week of Take the Stand, Pastor used an awesome video clip from from Penn & Teller that was featured on YouTube. Here’s the video in it’s entirety.
Here are some thoughts from the message:
- Acts 1:8 ~ again, you SHALL BE my witnesses. That means shall be in the Greek. That means shall be in the Hebrew. It means you are to be HIS witnesses.
- Some of you are living like an eclipsed moon – you are dark. There is no sign of Christ in you.
- Who goes to hell? You want to believe that it is evil people – drug dealers, sexual predators, murderers. Revelation says you are right but also in 20:15 it says those people plus anyone who has never trusted Jesus as their Savior – people like your family members who have no relationship with Christ.
- God commissioned us to stand between lost people and hell.
- The 21st Century Church has lost its burden for lost people.
- 2 Corinthian 5:18-21 – the ministry of reconciliation is hooking people up with Jesus.
- 1 Corinthians 9 – 6 times Paul says, “win those” or “save those.” It’s the principle of repetition – when the Bible says it over and over then do it!
- How much DO YOU really have to hate someone not to share with them about Jesus?
- Buy them dinner and talk to them about Jesus. But the economy is bad – hell is much worse.
- Is your heart broken for lost people? Psalms 126:5
- But what about people who haven’t heard? You are supposed to tell them.
Sunday’s message was amazing – as usual – and this video really spoke to me! I hope the hearts of everyone present were moved by that phrase… “How much do you have to hate someone…”
Great post!
