This weekend was a great start to the series, Take the Stand as we focus on the opportunities surrounding the major weekends happening at FPC the first two weeks of April (I think most churches are celebrating the 12th). Here are some of Pastor’s thoughts from the weekend.
- Our life and lips are not equal to the people watching.
- Acts 1:8 – You shall be my witnesses. It was an imperative – the disciples were telling everyone.
- Our negative witness is killing the church.
- Compassion and evangelism are not events – they are lifestyles.
- Evangelism and witnessing are dirty words – can we change them?
- The Gospel is good news – should be easy to talk about. It flows out of love and gratitude. If you won a million dollars, you wouldn’t have a problem talking about it.
- We are 1 generation away from losing the gospel.
- When you share with people, you’re not judging them. You are loving them. If you believe that hell is real then you must be compelled to share with them that there only hope is Jesus.
- Reasons you don’t share: fear, not knowing all the answers, the inconsistent life you have lived.
- Somebody in your life took a chance to connect you with Christ. Shouldn’t you take a chance for someone else?
