Recently I was reading through Sports Illustrated and was reminded that sex sells everything. There was an advertisement in the magazine for Speed Sleep that featured some ladies in bed with a guy (all dressed – although not too modestly) who was trying to fall asleep. I wonder how many products would make it if there was a law that no one could use sex to sell anything? We’ve gotten so desensitized to how often these images are imprinted in our mind. Here are some thoughts for you:

  • Guys: Are you guarding your heart and mind from the “sex message” of our culture?
  • Ladies: Are you living with a standard of modesty in the way you dress?
  • Guys: Do you have accountability built within your walk to guard against a fall in your life?
  • Ladies: Do you have someone who can tell you that you are pushing the lines of how you present yourself?

One of the things that I love about Kim is her desire to maintain a standard of modesty in her life and lead as an example in that area. As I have written before, she also helps with accountability for me (see this post). More and more our culture is pushing us into very uncomfortable areas using sex to sell – it really bothers me.

It is something that we as a culture, have allowed ourselves to slip into. I have stopped watching TV shows all together because of it. Good post..
