Yesterday was one of those days. We were getting ready to travel to Dallas for the Xpastor Seminar when it decided to snow unexpectedly – okay, dump snow! Our driveway is steep and it had about 2 inches of snow on it, so I did what any responsible man would do – I grabbed the shovel to clear it so we could get the SUV out of the garage. It was a good first half of the hill, until I started to slide. Instead of letting go of the shovel, I held on to it and face planted on the driveway. For those who know us, we always travel with some drama or craziness! Here’s what I looked like on the plane a little while later.

It looked so nasty that they asked the airport EMT to come and check me after Kim asked for some band-aids! When these things happen, you hope no one is there to see it. Kyle was pulling up to take us to the airport and saw the whole thing. Being so kind, he later emailed me and the subject line was “Smash Face.” I laughed out loud! Thanks for the blog title!
I’m fine except for some soreness. It could’ve been a lot worse! Hoping Tuesday is a better day!
Dr. Smooth
picture was awesome. Face plant or Kim’s right cross? Told you to be nicer to Kim. I pray the conference goes great. You Texas boys don’t know much about the snow do you?
Love ya man P,C.
I want going to tell that Kim hits me
Have fun by the fire today. Praying for you too!
Great picture. Maybe you can use this pic for future conference pictures.
You all really shouldn’t travel.
I was laughing like crazy until Josh got up and his face was bloody. Sorry, man!
Well, at least it makes a great story.
josh,
i thought you were a doctor ?you needed an emt to apply band aids .realy sorry to here that ill pray for your fast healing cya soon
Oh my goodness! I cannot stop laughing. This was so funny!! Thanks for sharing. Hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly.
I love this guy! The great thing about Dr. Whitehead is it’s a non-stop nerd alert. First, clearly you shouldn’t be handling heavy equipment like a shovel. Second, remember snow to a Louisiana boy means ‘stay away!’ Hope you give better than you received this week. Love you guys and really applaud Kyle’s reaction to the situation.
You guys are something else!
Just a thoughts for you guys to ponder.
Driveway . . . Big Wheel . . .
This looks just like Bruce Willis – was it Die Hard 3 when he was wrestling the guy on the airplane??
I’m not sure…I was just wrestling the driveway…and I lost!
