I’m reading this morning again in the book of Luke. In His teaching, Jesus gives us a great reminder about the urgency of reaching the world for Christ. in Luke 16:26, he says, “And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.” Although we know that the decision for eternity is made while here on earth, I sometimes wish that there might be another opportunity for those that I love or for those in this world. Jesus’ reminder is sobering – there is a great chasm that divides heaven and hell – uncrossable not just by individuals, but by the message of Christ. The opportunity to know Christ is only available on this side of heaven. That’s a great reminder.
